Mission

Checking a 3D file should not need a subscription

Extrude started as a plain STL viewer for my own phone. It grew because people kept writing in with what they needed next.

What we are building

A phone app that answers the questions you have before you print or send a part: How big is it? Will it fit the bed? Is the wall thick enough? How long will it take, and how much filament? Is there a hole the slicer will guess at?

Those answers usually need a computer, or a paid tier in a mobile app. Extrude gives them on the phone, for free.

Three rules

1. Your files stay with you

The app reads a model from your phone and draws it there. It does not upload files, rename them, move them or keep copies anywhere else. People open client parts, unreleased products and personal scans; a viewer has no reason to see them. The web viewer on this site follows the same rule: a file you drop on the page is read by your browser and never sent to a server.

2. The tools are free

Measuring, section view, print estimate, print check, AR and STL export cost nothing. A small banner ad pays for the work. No account, no trial, no feature that disappears after a week.

3. Users decide what comes next

Almost every feature began as an email. Measuring and print time came from one message, opening files inside a ZIP from another, new formats, STL export and AR from the ones after that. The app has a credits page that prints those requests, in the sender’s words where they wrote some, with the version that shipped them.

Where it is today

15,000+ models have been opened in the app since we started counting in September 2026. It runs in 28 languages on iPhone, iPad and Android. The counts come from anonymous counters that store no IDs and no file names; we update the number on this site by hand.

Who makes it

Extrude is built by Enes Vural, an independent developer in Turkey. If something does not open, or you need a tool that is missing, write to support@getextrude.com. Messages are read and answered by the person who writes the code.
